DR: Hyena - VFX and Creature Concept Art

As it happens, I don't remember the last time I was designing a creature just for myself. Since I was looking for an anti-hero beast archetype for one of my projects, I realized I could go with a cute hyena.
It was more difficult than I expected, with all the fur pointing in different directions. The best solution I discovered was to make this concept more rough with traditional-looking chalk brushes. Photomanipulating fur was too much for me, but I see that creatures are a good topic for me to push technical boundaries. Definitely, I will look into pet systems and creature designs more.

I am currently redesigning some of my older concepts from my personal project, Dragon's Revenge.
